BRUSSELS, BELGIUM: Interest in anthroposophic medicine is increasing in the European Union and around the world. In response, the IVAA is expanding the scope of its secretariat in Brussels with the aim of further elevating awareness and integration of anthroposophic medicine into EU health systems and beyond. IVAA’s new Secretary General, Elisa Baldini, will be leading this effort.

“This is a new position that aims to take the international political representation of anthroposophic medicine to a new level,” said Thomas Breitkreuz, President of IVAA’s Board. “We are excited about this new chapter in IVAA’s development and pleased to have Elisa to guide us on the path forward.” The Secretary General reports to the Board, a group of doctors with interest and experience in lobbying and advocacy.

Elisa joined IVAA in June 2018, after nearly ten years in various roles focusing on public health and education. She is a specialist in EU Advocacy, who holds a Masters in International Relations and an Executive Masters in EU Project Management.

She has previously served in EU policy and advocacy positions at Médecins Sans Frontières and Plan International as well as at the Christian Blind Mission. Most recently, she has acted as a consultant in the framework of the Joint Africa-EU Strategy, an initiative of both regions to create long-term and mutually beneficial relationships between the them. From 2011 to 2014, Elisa was a member of the European Network Action for Global Health.

Concurrent with the creation of the Secretary General position, IVAA is also launching its new website.
