Junior Advocacy Officer

Our Secretariat in Brussels is looking for a Junior Advocacy Officer to join our team. This is a new position to support and expand existing IVAA advocacy activities and provides a particular opportunity for junior professionals. The position is based out of Brussels, Belgium.

The IVAA, or Internationale Vereinigung Anthroposophischer Ärztegesellschaften/ International Federation of Anthroposophic Medical Associations, promotes the recognition of anthroposophic medicine and its implementation in health care systems. Our vision is a world where the benefits of anthroposophic medicine are widely recognized, and where patients and doctors have ready access to integrative anthroposophic medicines and treatments that improve healthcare outcomes.

The selected candidate will report to the IVAA Secretary General. This is a part-time position (3-4 days a week), with the following responsibilities:

 

Advocacy

• Implement and evaluate IVAA advocacy activities with support of the Secretary General (SG)

• Support the SG in the engagement of IVAA member in national advocacy for the recognition of Anthroposophic Medicine

• Represent IVAA in meetings with policy makers and civil society organizations

• Analyze and influence policy initiatives and processes

• Organize policy/advocacy meetings and events

• Participate in relevant working groups of networks IVAA is part of

• Participate in the development of position papers and other policy-advocacy tools

 

Internal communication and members’ engagement

• Coordinate the collection of input, draft and send the internal newsletter to IVAA members

• Organize webinars and online meetings for IVAA members

 

Administration, logistics and other tasks

Support the Secretary General in the administration of the IVAA Office including:

  • secretarial tasks
  • organization of travel, public events and other ad-hoc special projects

• University degree in Political Science, or similar
• Fluency in English; other languages are an asset
• 1-year relevant previous experience
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and office managing tools
• Good knowledge of Videoconference systems
