Therapy in Anthroposophic Medicine and other Whole Medical Systems covers a wide range of medicinal products. In Anthroposophic Medicine experts have developed a systematic approach to documentation, assessment and aggregation of physicians’ experiences with Anthroposophic Medicinal Products (AMPs): the Vademecum of Anthroposophic Medicines.
The Vademecum was created as a tool for physicians needing an accessible and brief description of a specific AMP or AMP group. The tool is for their own training or patient care, but it may also be used for scientific purposes.
Recently, a descriptive analysis of Vademecum was published in the Complementary Medicine Research Journal. Researchers found that the current Vademecum (the 4th edition) covers more than half of all AMPs on the German market. These products were used for over a quarter of all medical indications (three-digit codes in the ICD-10 classification system). The Vademecum approach could also be relevant for other medicinal products from Whole Medical Systems.
